Promoting child development and learning has always been of interest to me and the reason for my pursuit of my degree. Organizations that I believe will assists me in gaining competence in the Early CHildhood field is the North Carolina Early Childhood Association, which strives to bridge the gap o child care in North Carolina. NCECA seeks to improve the overall working environment of it's professional aiding that the proper educational supports are in place. Inaddition to advancing the rights of children.
A way for me to advocate on the state level in support of Early CHildhood Education is through the North Carolina Head Start Association. The social issues which affect families, head start children, and their families directly affect the program. Gaining new knowledge of how to advocate on behalf of the families being served through professional development opportunities, collaboration, and networking.
Smart Start's Partnership for Children services varying depending on the county one may live in, however support services are available to shape a child's future in a positive way, through ensuring children are healthy and ready to succeed in school.

ReplyDeleteI too would like to become an early invention specialist but I would like to focus on children birth to 5 years because I feel those are the most formative years that can impact a child's development and many times children are in primary school before teachers detect danger signals and by that time, children have fallen behind their peers and have a hard time catching up.
Eboni,
ReplyDeleteThis post has ignited so much in me. I love the early invention specialist, I think its starts at the very beginning and inorder to mold or shape anything, you have to begin with a strong foundation. Aslo, Smart Start's Partnership for Children services sounds like another experience I would even consider myself. The idea of support services of howto shape a child's future in a positive way is more than motivation for me. I love the ideas, thank you and good luck!
